Edge banding gives a woodshop the option of using a very flat, manmade substrate (such as plywood, PB, MDF) to create doors that are more uniform and stable than natural wood. It eliminates the need for stile and rail frames on door panels, thus reducing manufacturing time and, of course, cost.
